Frozen Peanut Butter Banana Bites
This is the one that disappears first, every time. Three ingredients you probably already have, ten minutes of actual work, and then the freezer does the rest. If your dog has ever lost their mind over a spoon with peanut butter on it, this is that feeling, just portioned out properly.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/3 cup plain peanut butter (check the label: it must not contain xylitol)
- 1/2 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt
Instructions
- Mash the banana in a bowl until smooth.
- Stir in the peanut butter and yogurt until fully combined.
- Spoon the mixture into a silicone ice cube tray or mini muffin tin.
- Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
- Pop them out and store in a freezer bag for up to a month.
Before you buy the peanut butter: some brands sweeten with xylitol,
which is toxic to dogs. Read the label first. Don't recognize an ingredient? Skip that
jar and grab one with just peanuts and salt instead.
Watching your dog's weight this summer? These are easy to make smaller: use a mini ice cube tray instead of a muffin tin, and hand out one or two instead of a handful.
